The Mobile Assisted Reconstruction In Orthopaedics (M.A.R.I.O) device was designed to improve surgical precision by offering real-time feedback during Total Knee Arthroplasty. It is a hand-held device paired with a user-friendly phone application that guides surgeons when determining pin placement.
My role involved mechanical design, CAD modelling and testing prototype components to improve initial design iterations to ensure the device was as optimal as possible.
